After more than 20 years in the music industry, Christian trio Selah has ventured into a new direction with the recording “Firm Foundation.” The music is stylistically different incorporating bluegrass and world music and was produced on a new label—Integrity Music. “While we still sound the same, and while our hearts are still the same—we still desire to sing the truth,” said Amy Perry in a release. “There’s a little piece of each of us in this project and I think it turned out beautifully.”
The 11 tracks offer listeners a variety of sounds, including pop, country and traditional. Selah’s core message resonates in the chorus of the title track: “I will not be moved for my feet are planted in you, A firm foundation, My solid rock, You can’t be shaken, You won’t be stopped.” Other highlights include “He Will Hold Me Fast,” a declaration of strength in the Lord, and the modern hymn, “Yet Not I, But Christ in Me.” Selah does worship music well and genuinely and this record is no exception.
