The junior high boys of First Christian Reformed Church in Toronto used their baking skills to raise money, hoping for $23 to buy a goat or a pig for a village in Mali.

They surprised themselves and delighted the congregation when their bake sale total reached $366. That was enough to buy two oxen and two ploughs through the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee.

From left, Simon Lantinga, Simon Vandertuin, Silas Vriend, Rosanne Lopers-Sweetman, Brandon Guzman, Isaac Veenkamp, and Alex Hamilton share their fund-raising results with the congregation.
