Ben Vandezande will take over as interim director of Christian Reformed Home Missions on Oct. 1. He will replace Rev. John Rozeboom, who is retiring after 22 years as director. Vandezande currently serves as a Home Missions regional team leader for Eastern Canada.

“I hope my service and leadership as interim director can be helpful at this time of transition in Home Missions’ journey,” Vandezande says. “I want to help Home Missions make a good transition to new leadership and discover creative ways for regional ministry teams together with others to walk with churches and ministries to embrace God’s mission in a fresh way.”

Before coming to Home Missions, Vandezande was director of Diaconal Ministries Eastern Canada (now Diaconal Ministries Canada). He has also worked as a development coordinator, a municipal politician, and an educator.

He will serve as interim director for two years.
