Kaycee Knochenmus from Sioux Falls, S.D. (pushing wheelbarrow), and Shannon Wolthuis, from Gibbons, Alberta, were two of 54 Christian Reformed teens and their leaders who visited Ripon, Calif., for a week of work and witness. The 39 girls and 19 boys hailed from Iowa, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and parts of Canada.

The group worked at three sites, cleaning up and painting for nonprofit organizations. Immanuel CRC, Escalon CRC, and First CRC of Ripon cosponsored the project. In southern California more than 200 teens were part of large SERVE teams at Rosewood CRC in Bellflower and Crosspoint CRC in Chino.
