Two or three times each year, Christian Reformed churches send representatives to classis, a regional grouping of churches. Delegates at those meetings review and make decisions about their shared ministries and practice mutual accountability for their individual ministries. Here are highlights from the most recent classis meetings:

Classis Grand Rapids East will appoint a classis prayer coordinator.

Classis Thornapple Valley plans to hire a ministry coordinator. It also heard that Standing Stone Community, a church plant in Rockford, Mich., was closed.

Classis Kalamazoo declined to allow women pastors and elders to serve as delegates to classis.

Classis California South approved the organization of First Harvest Chapel CRC in Tustin.

Classis Holland approved the organization of Cambodian Fellowship CRC in Holland, Mich. And it disbanded its CRC/RCA Action Committee.

Classis Zeeland disbanded its Youth Ministries Committee and will distribute its resources to interested youth workers.
