Classes Hudson and Hackensack (regional groups of churches) are now providing translations of classis documents in Spanish and Korean and furnishing headsets for audio translation during classis meetings.

The two classes include churches in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Washington, D.C. Five congregations in those classes are primarily Hispanic and nine are Korean.

Estimated cost for headsets is $3,500 and for print translation, $500.

“This initiative . . . will improve our cross-culture communication. It promotes a healthy unity while maintaining diversity in languages and cultural values,” said Rev. Hernan Zapata, pastor of The Good Shepherd (El Buen Pastor) CRC in Prospect Park, N.J.
