Covenant Christian Reformed Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, celebrated its 100th anniversary in late November.

On Nov. 11, 1908, College Avenue CRC held its first service. In the early 1960s, Kildonan CRC began, and the two churches together merged into Covenant CRC in 1993.

Four events marked the milestone anniversary. Two particular highlights were a Saturday evening banquet and a Sunday afternoon worship service. Dordt College professor James Schaap spoke at both events.

Centennial committee chair Gerry Wyenberg said that attendees enjoyed the commemoration.

“I saw people talking together who hadn’t talked together in a long time,” he said.
