Langley has taken home one silver and three bronze medals in the past seven years—and now gold.

Assistant coach Jesse Zuidhof said the gold medal belongs to everyone who has helped the team over the years. “A lot of excellent coaches and role models have played a part in shaping this exceptional group both as volleyball players and as young men of faith.”

Eli Tolkamp of Willoughby Christian Reformed Church, was named most valuable player of the tournament.

“When we entered into the championship game last week, one of our goals as coaches was to ensure that our perspective and values were being focused in the right direction,” Zuidhof explained. “Volleyball is just a game, and games are to be enjoyed. We reminded our players that they needed to play the game for their teammates. Most important, we wanted to play this game for our Creator, who blessed us with the gifts and talents to play this game. We were out there to honor and glorify him.”
