When Ellie Holcomb got the news that her father, legendary CCM producer Brown Bannister, had been diagnosed with cancer, she responded by writing a series of songs that reminded her of the promises of God. The recording, produced by Bannister, speaks clearly of the peace of God that passes all understanding.

The opening song, “Find You Here,” makes explicit the peace that we read about in Philippians 4 as she sings, “And I didn't know I'd find You here/In the middle of my deepest fear, but/You are drawing near/You are overwhelming me, with peace.”

The album stays on point. In song after song Holcomb sings about God’s presence and promises. In the title track she sings of how God can make a road where we cannot see one.

Red Sea Road is a worthy follow up to her award-winning As Sure as the Sun; it’s an album that will be an encouragement to many as we hear again about the promises of a God who will find us in the darkness. (Full Heart Music)
