The life of Peter Kang, a longtime minister and missionary, was marked by a passionate dedication to Jesus Christ in local ministry and on the mission field. He died Feb. 11 due to COVID-19.

Kang, who had an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and an M.Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary, served as an adjunct professor at Fuller Theological Seminary in the School of Intercultural Studies since 2000.

Peter and his wife, Christina Kang, were both pastors at All Nations Church in Lake Terrace View, Calif. First ordained in the Evangelical Church Alliance International, Peter was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church in 2010. As pastor of family ministry at All Nations Church, until 2015, Kang cared for church members, pastors, and missionaries across the world. He was an associate member of Santiphap Mission Initiatives, church planting in Thailand, since 2018.

He also was a founder of Providence University in California, which was established in 2019. Co-founder Edward Yoon, pastor of Phoenix (Ariz.) Korean Presbyterian Church, said, "Rev. Peter Kang was my beloved friend, colleague, and mentor who has reflected the character of our Lord Jesus Christ by showing his ever tenderness, fidelity, and selfless sacrificial love to God's people."

A dedicated father and grandfather, Peter enjoyed spending time with his family as well as cooking, watching sports, and traveling. He is survived by his wife Christina, two children and spouses, and one granddaughter.
