After a seven-year hiatus, Christian ska band The O.C. Supertones is back with a delightful work entitled For the Glory. It’s the band’s first major project since splitting up in 2005 and then returning in 2010 to play some concerts together. These energized Orange County, Calif., guys offer a project filled with dance and sing-along songs. The Caribbean sounds of a festive trombone and trumpet (plus guitars and drums) combine with solid lyrics of the gospel message to give God all the glory. This is a happy project with lots of encouraging messages based on the band’s relationship with Christ and its focus on him. It’s also a simple reminder that Christians can have fun with music and still honor the King. (BEC Recordings)
