Vero Visser found herself in a very familiar situation: heading into the summer before her senior year, she needed an internship.

Visser, a digital media student at Dordt College, in Sioux Center, Iowa, remembered a website for HCJB Global that a friend had mentioned over a year ago. HJCB, a mission-based Christian radio station, was Visser’s stepping stone to her eventual internship.
After completing the application process, Visser heard that she would be going to the 2012 Olympics in London, working with OneSheep ministry.
“We’re all coming from different places and different backgrounds, but we all have a common cause,” Visser said. “I love to see how God is putting all of this together.”
OneSheep came out of a partnership between HCJB and FEBA UK, a ministry that uses media to bring hope to hard-to-reach communities.
“These two Christian organizations are combining forces in order to provide a Christian perspective with new media skills and resources to those who have not heard of Christ,” Visser said.
Starting July 15, Visser will be in London, close to the Olympic Park. After a training session, she will produce video content and film interviews for daily video blogs.
“The idea is to gather stories that will share Christ with the world,” Visser said, “in order to use the Olympics not only as a fantastic event for nations, but also as a great opportunity to touch the lives of all who are in need of Christ.”
Visser attends Living Water Community Christian Reformed Church in Orange City, Iowa.
