Erik Hoekstra has been named as the next president of Dordt College.
Hoekstra is no stranger to the school in Sioux Center, Iowa. He has taught there and has been provost for the last four years.
Consultant Ed Paul was part of the hiring process. “Erik really has a wonderful mix of successful leadership, both in industry and in education,” Paul said. “His background is human resources, so his ability to lead and develop people was very attractive in this process, and was one of the key things that made him stand out.”
Hoekstra felt the calling to the presidential search as he looked back over his career. “[God] has been deepening my motivation to be of service in Christian higher education, and also allowing me the great joy of leading a team of people who are excited about Dordt College,” Hoekstra said. “Overall, the feeling is eager anticipation of what God will do through the team here.”
