More than 100 people from several cultures came to sample the upbeat, expressive flavor of worship that Hispanic leaders bring to the Christian Reformed Church.
It was the first Hispanic Ministry Conference, held in December at Rosewood CRC in Bellflower, Calif. “We wanted to demonstrate how our Hispanic culture expresses our love for the Lord in worship—through congas, percussion, keyboard, singing, and dancing,” said Mirtha Villafane, Hispanic ministry developer for Christian Reformed Home Missions.
The conference, cosponsored by Classes Greater Los Angeles and California South, featured workshops on music, worship, prayer, and outreach and concluded with a concert.
