Rev. Scott E. Hoezee, 41, has been appointed the first director of the Center for Excellence in Preaching at Calvin Theological Seminary, Grand Rapids, Mich. Hoezee comes to the position from Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, where he was minister of preaching and administration. The center is a newly formed resource for preachers and congregations that includes recommended books, sermon starters, articles about preaching, and more. Wayne DeJong, director of Christian Reformed World Relief Committee-Canada, has been appointed vice president of special projects and partnerships for Habitat for Humanity Canada. DeJong, 48, leaves CRWRC after nine years as Canadian director. Andrew Ryskamp, director of CRWRC-U.S., will serve as director of CRWRC for both the U.S. and Canada until a new Canadian director is appointed.
Rev. Jimmy Lin has been appointed administrative director for the Back to God Hour and will oversee all of the internal program and administrative functions performed in the Palos Heights, Ill., headquarters. Lin, 55, has served as Chinese-language broadcast minister for the ministry since 1990. The Back to God Hour, with offices in Palos Heights and Burlington, Ontario, is the electronic media ministry of the Christian Reformed Church in North America.
