On October 21 and 22, California State Christian University’s Korean division opened its fall special lectures with two Christian Reformed pastors.

Rev. Seung C. Choi of New Joy CRC in Downey, Calif., and Rev. Christian Yong Ju Oh of  Han-Bit Korean CRC in Rochester, Mich.,  delivered lectures based on their pastoral experiences.

Rev. Choi spoke of Elijah, a man of prayer, calling leaders to live as men of faith, to depend on God’s answering within impossible situations by human standards.

Rev. Oh challenged the meaning of missionalnot as going nor doing, but being. He told attendees that “missional life” is a journey to experience and to see our Lord and his kingdom in our daily lives as well as in missional churches with missional Bible reading.

Twenty pastors, missionaries, and lay leaders attended the seminar designed to train and equip Christian leaders in their diverse ministries domestically and abroad. “It is really a blessing to see all the interested pastors and leaders who participated, and that this is affecting and touching many communities in greater Los Angeles,” said Dr. Woo Chun Lee, vice president of CSCU’s Korean division.
