The Banner took home five awards from the Evangelical Press Association’s annual convention at the awards dinner on May 3.

The magazine as a whole won an Award of Merit in the category for denominational magazines.
There were also four awards in various categories:
In the evangelism article category, Brian Walsh’s article “Urban Ministry: Looking for a Place to Call Home” received a second place. Jennifer Parker’s “Christmas Narratives: Jesus’ Family Stories Help Us Make Sense of Our Own,” took third place for first-person articles.
There were two fourth place articles: “God’s Belly Button,” by Leonard Vander Zee, in the Bible exposition category, and “Missing Maggie,” by Judith Claire Hardy, in the general article category.
Last month, The Banner took home five awards from the Associated Church Press.
