This past summer 90 teens and counselors from Korean Christian Reformed churches in southern California and Nevada met at Camp Kainos 2008. The annual summer camp is dedicated to bringing together teens from small Korean-American churches.
Camp Kainos provides the experience of a large camp setting and fellowship, including crafts, activities, seminars, and time for worship. Campers also meet together in small groups with a counselor throughout the weekend.
Rev. Andy Choh, pastor of Heaven Bound Ministry, an emerging Christian Reformed church in Cerritos, Calif., was the guest speaker. Ruth (Gina) Kim, 13, said his messages were good educational-spiritual teachings for teens.
Camp director Kyong Lee expressed thanks for counselors and volunteers at the camp, but he mentioned that for this great annual event to continue, there is a need for more churches to help with preparation.
