On a sunny Saturday in September, members of 10 southern California Korean Christian Reformed churches gathered in Cerritos, Calif., for their 18th annual sports day.
After a worship service led by Rev. Sang M. Moon, the games began. Hundreds of participants, from children to the elderly, competed in volleyball, Korean-style kick-ball, mixed relay track, tug-of-war, horseshoes, and children’s relay track.
This year’s winning team was the TkoKamsa Home Church of Los Angeles.
Rev. Joseph Hyong Jun, editor of Voice of the Reformed, the official magazine of the Korean CRC Council, said, “This great fellowship among church members far exceeded my expectations. I wish more sister churches would join together for next year.”
