Seriously injured in a terrorist attack over 30 years ago, singer-songwriter Sam Baker has endured a long road to recovery. In his fifth album, Baker ventures into the “land of doubt,” the borderland between trust and betrayal.
With sparse lyrics, Baker recounts his personal highs and lows in a spoken style reminiscent of Leonard Cohen. The album also includes songs recounting the lives of people who are lost and broken.
The overall mood of Land of Doubt is dark, yet flourishes of joy burst bright. (Blue Limestone)
