Author Melissa Kruger’s simple rhyming text and illustrator Isobel Lundie’s emotive, cartoon-like illustrations combine to teach young children about the nature of God’s grace. Each of the book’s short scenarios involve children who make choices they are ashamed of or know to be wrong. Each concludes with the plea not to run and hide or to do good things to try to earn God’s favor. Rather, children are encouraged again and again with the truth of the gospel: “God’s grace is enough / It’s so BIG and so FREE / His grace is enough / Both for YOU and for ME.”
Children are also taught why God’s grace is available to them: “Here’s how it works: / Jesus died on the cross / WE gain new life / Because HE suffered loss / Though we don’t deserve it / Our God is SO KIND / That’s grace pure and simple / The BEST thing to find.”
Recommended as an excellent addition to a family’s devotional library. (The Good Book Company)
