Author William Daniel is a middle school student who loves to entertain people and make them laugh. In his collection of more than 400 original riddles, puns, knock-knock jokes, and one-liners, William offers kids and adults numerous opportunities to chuckle, giggle, chortle, and burst out laughing.
For example, some puns:
“Q. What did the underpants company do today? A. They had a brief meeting.”
“Q. What did God think when he needed somebody to build an ark? A. I Noah guy.”
“Knock knock. Who’s there? Needle. Needle who? Needle little push?”
And, for example, a one-liner: “I don’t really like learning about the human skin, but it is growing on me.”
Though recommended for children ages 6-8, this book seems better suited to older children because of the use of idioms, double meanings of words, and the general background knowledge required to understand some of the jokes. (Revell)
