American Idol alumnus Danny Gokey provides listeners with themes of God’s hope and authority in his latest release, Sound of Heaven. “In whatever walk of life or profession; whatever nation, tribe or tongue, we all make up the sound of Heaven if we're following Jesus,” said Gokey in a release. “My prayer is that each of these songs meets each person right where they are and helps them experience the ‘Sound Of Heaven’ in a fresh new way, in just the way they need it!" Gokey, who speaks English and Spanish fluently, offers his typical Caribbean feel to this record. The music is festive and bouncy with a few calming ballads and anthems. The title cuts kick off the project with a singalong vibe centering on counting blessings rather than trials. “I Got You,” the first radio single, talks about hope in God in the tough times, whereas “Can’t Help But Worship,” is a beautiful anthem featuring Maverick City’s Naomi Raines bringing glory to the Lord. Gokey, who started professionally in country music, continues to flourish in the Christian realm with highly relational music just like “Sound of Heaven.” (Capitol Christian Music Group)
