The Child in our Midst is a podcast from the Center for Faith and Children at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Each week, hosts Lindsey Goetz and Ahyuwani Akanet, two of the directors from the center, have a conversation with professionals in the field of children’s ministry. The guests in the first season relied heavily on academics in the field as they talked about their areas of expertise and how those connect specifically to ministry to children.
The podcast, as well as the center that hosts it, has as one of its core values the bridging of theory and practice. They believe, and it comes across well in the conversations, that thought leaders in the area of children’s faith formation and those who work in ministry with kids have much to learn from each other.
The conversations are casual but well-focused on the topic at hand. Lindsey and Ahuwani are knowledgeable and winsome hosts who know when to share their personal stories and when to ask more from their guests. Anyone who works with children in churches or schools and cares about faith will find things to learn in these delightful conversations.
