A new website specifically for Asian Christian Reformed churches is good news for Indonesian, Vietnamese, Laotian, Filipino, Hmong, and Chinese congregations scattered across North America from Ontario to California.
Because the 25 Asian churches are spread far apart geographically, many of them the only Asian congregation in their classis (region), they have felt isolated and voiceless.
But that will change with the advent of www.asiancrc.org.
Leaders of the Asian churches decided a website would be an inexpensive and easy way to promote a vision of healthy Asian Christian Reformed pastors and churches.
Fernando del Rosario, ministry associate for Living Faith Fellowship-Filipino CRC in Hayward, Calif., is the website coordinator. “The primary focus,” he said, “is to connect, strengthen, and sustain more healthy and informed Asian CRCs today and in the future.”
Del Rosario also said he hopes the website will be used by both Asian and non-Asian pastors and CRC agencies to increase intercultural awareness.
