So many gifts, so many people, so many generations. Nine Christian Reformed churches in central Alberta gathered in Red Deer in late September to celebrate the Christian Reformed Church’s 150th anniversary.
Nearly 1,200 gathered for worship from the congregations of First CRC and New Life Fellowship, Red Deer; First CRC and Covenant CRC, Rocky Mountain House; Bethel CRC, Wolf Creek Community, and Woody Nook CRC, Lacombe; Rimbey CRC; and Sonrise CRC, Ponoka.
Tetsy Talsma, a charter member of Woody Nook CRC, the first Christian Reformed church in central Alberta, came to celebrate along with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The worshipers rejoiced in song and word, listened to a message from Rev. Cornelius Plantinga, president of Calvin Theological Seminary, and celebrated the Lord’s Supper together.
