Synod 2007 voted to allow First Christian Reformed Church of Prinsburg, Minn., to switch from Classis Lake Superior to Classis Minnkota, which does not seat women as delegates.

“This is a local congregation that has made a decision, and, in light of what we talked about [allowing churches room to disagree on women’s ordination], we have to be prepared to listen to them,” said Rev. Joel Nederhood of Classis Illiana.

Synod agreed.
