The 100th anniversary celebration of First Christian Reformed Church in Denver is an all-year affair.

Visits each quarter from former ministers and an evening with historian Tom Noel of the University of Colorado have helped keep the momentum going.

A highlight will be a September block party with a festival including food, an eclectic mix of music, and klompen dancers (folk dancers wearing wooden shoes).

Mr. Klaas Van Wyk led worship in his home in 1906 before the congregation organized in 1907. Their first minister was Rev. Idzerd van Dellen. The current pastor, 15th in First’s history, is Rev. Joel Schreurs.
