Mark Rice, a former executive with Zondervan, Inc., starts October 31 as the new director of Faith Alive Christian Resources, the publishing agency of the Christian Reformed Church.
Rice, 45, brings 24 years of publishing experience to Faith Alive, including launching books by Rick Warren, Philip Yancey, and Rob Bell.
Rice told the CRC Board of Trustees, “I’m a product of Christian education. It taught me that our world really does belong to God and how important the Reformed biblical perspective is.”
Rice said the days of expecting denominational loyalty to curriculum are gone. “A good product starts with great content,” he said.
Rice is married and has two children. He and his family are members of Ivanrest CRC in Grandville, Mich.
Rice succeeds Gary Mulder, who is retiring after nearly 25 years at the helm of Faith Alive.
