Nearly 50 Korean leaders in the Christian Reformed Church attended a Healthy Churches Seminar in San Bernardino, Calif., as part of the Sustaining Congregational Excellence (SCE) program of the denomination.

Rev. Sunil Kim of Oxnard Korean CRC and Rev. David Suh of Joy Community CRC in Los Angeles led the group in thinking creatively about nurturing the health of their congregation and serving the community in which they minister using SCE health and renewal grants.

The leaders also heard from Rev. Ron Chu about special issues in English-language ministry to the 1.5 and second generations of Korean churches.

At a subsequent meeting, the Korean Council of the CRC elected officers for the coming year. Rev. John Seho Oh, of Korean American CRC in Orange County, Calif., will serve as president, and Rev. Jang Ho Park, of Good Shepherd CRC in Anaheim, will be vice president.
