“Are you guys for real? What an awesome idea!” That was Cetina Farruggia’s reaction to receiving a gift from Christy Bloemendal.
Bloemendal was one of the members of Living Mosaic Christian Reformed Church in Burlington, Ontario, taking part in a $5,000 “Pay It Forward”-style campaign. The church used the campaign to celebrate its launch into weekly services.
Funded by individual and corporate partners, church members handed out Tim Horton’s coupons, gasoline cards, and Voortman cookies.
The twist was that the gifts were handed out in packs of two, with cards asking recipients to enjoy one and pass the other along to someone else.
