The Sioux Falls (S.D.) Christian High boy’s golf team captured its third straight state title last spring, with a definite Christian Reformed flavor to the squad.
Head Coach Mike Schouten and leading golfers Mike Rozenboom and Ethan Blankespoor all attend First Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Falls.
Sioux Falls Christian dominated the 2007 state field with a 17-stroke victory. Rainey Reynolds, Kyle Schock, and Rozenboom all earned medal status.
“One attribute of this team was great team chemistry,” Schouten said. “They all got along great and really enjoyed each other. There was no jealously on this team. Another attribute is that they are all competitive in a healthy way.”
