Danielle Briscoe had no idea that her testimony would help a life come into the world.

Briscoe, 14, shared her testimony at Rosewood Christian Reformed Church in Bellflower, Calif., after participating in a SERVE project.

She shared how God gave her the opportunity to talk with pregnant women in front of an abortion clinic. “I told about how one woman was cursing at us on her way into the clinic, but when she came out God had softened her heart and she broke down and ended up changing her mind,” said Briscoe. “I was so happy.”

Carmen Perez was visiting Rosewood CRC that day and heard Briscoe’s testimony. Perez, 44, had been contemplating ending what was termed a high-risk pregnancy. She had gone to the hospital three times to discuss the possibility of an abortion.

“When I heard the testimony, God touched my heart and I decided not to ever think about an abortion again,” said Perez. “I envisioned Jesus holding my baby in his arms, and I felt peace.”

On Feb. 2, Perez and her husband, Francisco, became parents of a healthy baby boy, whom they named Christian Haciel, meaning “gift from God.”
