No New Process for Shared Supervision

News

Synod 2012 did not change the process of shared supervision of an ordained minister employed by the Christian Reformed Church’s denominational administration.

Classis Grandville (Mich.), a regional group of churches, requested that synod address the process in which denominational leaders are supervised by both their home congregations and other institutions involved. The classis wanted a more honest, effective, and God-honoring process.

Since Classis Grandville did not suggest any specific changes, synod did not accept the request. However, synod encouraged the church to conscientiously follow the current Church Order guidelines.
