Korean Community Christian Reformed Church in Buena Park, Calif., is sending Rev. Kyung Hyun Cho to England as a missionary. Cho was commissioned on April 27 at a special dedication service.
Cho had served for more than 10 years as senior pastor at the Buena Park church. He said that this is God’s calling for his second life, “so I just obeyed his calling for this age.”
Why England, and especially Wales? In his confessional testimony, Cho explained that one day he received a marvelous vision about the land of England during his prayers. Last summer he had a short-term mission journey there and received spiritual challenges. He noted that the great spiritual revival happened in 1904. Cho’s passion is that Wales will be a strategic place for the upcoming mission for the world, similar to that great revival of Wales toward England.
Cho earned a Ph.D. in Theology from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, Calif., focusing on the apologetics of evangelistic theologies in postmodern times. These studies, he said, have allowed him to become a vehicle for the gospel to others in the churches and educational fields.
Cho will move to England in July with his wife and youngest son.
