The Evangelical Press Association’s 2018 Higher Goals awards were presented last week at the association’s annual convention. With more than 300 members and a combined circulation of more than 15 million readers, the professional association for the Evangelical periodical publishing industry each year recognizes the best work done in specific categories during the previous calendar year.
Commenting on the magazine’s overall variety and balance of content, judges said, “Hooray! A magazine with a Letters section! Many mags overlook this opportunity to allow readers their say. You also have coverage of denominational news, another feature some mags have abandoned. Yours is especially effective and well done! Banner provides many voices and types of articles —a feast!”
For works published in 2017, The Banner was honored in the following categories:

Second Place: “Stand Together”—Shiao Chong

Second Place: “Just for Kids”—Sandy Swartzentruber, Rachel Lancashire
