Babies are endlessly fascinating, and so is this documentary now out on DVD. The filmmakers follow four babies during the first year of their lives in Japan, Namibia, Mongolia, and the U.S. The beautiful cinematography and absence of narration give viewers time and space to make their own observations, cultural comparisons, and discoveries. Parents: Babies contains a fair amount of partial nudity (breastfeeding in particular), but you shouldn’t hesitate to see this enlightening film with your kids. (Focus Features)
