Few directors accomplish greatness in addressing the afterlife, and none to the extent of Clint Eastwood in Hereafter. George Lonegan (Matt Damon), our hero, wants more than anything to be released from his psychic ability. And yet, in his struggle, he becomes the missing link between the lives of both Cecile (Marie Lelay) and her past, and Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren) and the memory of his brother. At once tragic and uplifting, Hereafter is a beautiful slice-of-life that evokes early Hollywood while considering how important it is to remember the moments that shape us. Available on disc March 15. (Warner Home Video)
