Fans of Owl City’s last album, Ocean Eyes, are likely to love All Things Bright and Beautiful too. Adam Young offers up another round of his electronic experimentation. No, he doesn’t make any giant leaps from the last album, but the inventive, faith-infused, sometimes goofy lyrics and catchy hooks are hard to resist. While the album won’t win awards for originality, Young adds some hip-hop touches and avoids a retread of the last one. In the shadow of today’s headlines, some lighthearted music might be just the right thing. Parents of tweens, consider this a shared listening opportunity for car trips. (Universal Republic)
