The time-tested, popular Christian band Third Day decided to go in a different direction for their 16th album. The boys from Georgia hired veteran producer Brendan O’Brien, who has worked with such heavyweights as Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam, to oversee the change. Miracle is a feel-good offering that features a blend of good ol’ Southern rock-and-roll with soft rock/pop. Lead singer Mac Powell’s lead vocals are strong and commanding, but background vocals garner equal importance on several songs. The title track, “I Need a Miracle,” is a radio top-10 hit that tells the story of a married couple who experienced the power of prayer in a desperate situation. (Provident)
