This slim volume is part of the new “Calvin Shorts” series, which aims to present readers with solid information on a single topic “designed to be read in an evening or during a flight.” As a fledgling youth elder at my church, I found this book packed with helpful and hopeful information about the reported flight of young people from the church.

Hill uses sociological data to unpack and challenge the assumptions and interpretations that have given rise to the fear of losing our youth. It truly is a book you can read through in a couple of hours, and I’m curious to see the next couple of titles in the series—The Church and Religious Persecution and Christians and Cultural Development.
