KoRn lead guitarist Brian “Head” Welch lived the fairly typical life of a metal band member: sex, drugs, and parties. He left the controversial, Grammy-winning group he cofounded and became a Christian, determined to get his life on track and become more of a steady influence as a single parent to his daughter, Jennea.
Welch’s book chronicles this directional change over a 10-year period with brutal honesty. Welch encountered plenty of obstacles, including depression, lawsuits, betrayals, and bankruptcy, while his daughter battled depression and self-injury. His recorded prayers are short and reminiscent of David’s soul-bearing prayers in the Psalms.
Welch formed his own band, and eventually he felt led to return to KoRn. This is a gripping story of heartache, wholeness, and simple faith. (Thomas Nelson)
