Wen gave her life to the Lord wholeheartedly, even quitting her job to serve in a church.

But because of the lack of biblically sound resources in China, she had a lot of misconceptions about what it meant to be a believer.

“Her beliefs were not grounded in God’s Word,” said Jean Chen, Chinese program producer for Back to God Ministries International. “They were twisted in her fellow man’s teaching.”

Many of Wen’s misconceptions came from the Internet, so believers in China must be especially careful when using web resources. Still, church leaders point to BTGMI websites as a trusted source.

When BTGMI’s Chinese ministry team visited China, they invited Wen to one of their conferences. The team shared resources from “Bible and Women,” the outreach’s newest radio program and website designed to encourage women just like Wen.

“The site reaches young women as well as professional women in China who are struggling to balance their professional, family, and church life,” explained Rev. Jimmy Lin, Chinese ministry leader.

After discovering “Bible and Women,” Wen approached Jean and said that she had been dealing with depression and family issues. Jean used her skills to counsel Wen and connected her with a local church leader who would provide ongoing spiritual counsel.

“We are thankful that the Lord has provided our “Bible and Women” ministry with a producer who has a master’s degree in biblical counseling,” added Rev. Lin.

The BTGMI Chinese team also met other women who have benefited from “Bible and Women.” Na said that she had never seen the Internet as a place of biblical truth until she discovered our resources.

“Na often ran to the Internet for entertainment or escape,” explained Jean. “Now she uses the “Bible and Women” website and social media as a source of God’s nourishment and real spiritual life.”

After returning from their trip to China and connecting with their listeners on a personal level, Jean and the other outreach team members feel renewed in their work.
