Puerto Rico-born Blanca conveys hurt and redemption in her third full-length project, “The Heartbreak and the Healing.” “It’s songs of the journey I’ve been on after going through a divorce,” the singer said in a release. “I think sometimes the best way to describe it is the juxtaposition of pain and praise happening in one moment. That’s what I wanted to bring with this album. It’s how you can have heartbreak, but how you can also experience healing from that place.” Blanca possesses a powerful, distinctive voice blended in with a strong mix of pop, Latin, hip-hop, and gospel music. Two popular radio singles, “Even at My Worst” and “The Healing,” highlight the 14-track effort. Part of “The Healing” chorus says, “ ’Cause I can feel it rising on the inside; A fire burning wild and bringing me to life; My God you’re so much more; Than just a feeling; You are my healing.” Another interesting song, “Mi Amor,” provides lyrics in Spanish and English as one selection. This album reminds listeners God can bring healing through the most painful parts of life. (Curb/Word Entertainment)
