Cochren & Co’s debut recording, “Don’t Lose Hope,” mirrors the title with a strong message of hope throughout the music. “This record is a culmination of years of my own joy, sorrow, peace, worry, doubt, and ultimately the thread of hope that has brought me to where I am now," said frontman Michael Cochren in a release. "It’s a lot of my story, but it’s things we all experience —and the hope Jesus brings to all of it.” The music possesses a soulful feel combined with a spirited pop sound. It has already garnered three Top 10 radio singles: “Church (Take Me Back),” “One Day,” and “Who Can.” The title cut also earned a spot on the popular CBS TV show “MacGyver.” Another album highlight is the final song, “Grave.” The chorus states, “If there hadn’t been a grave; If there hadn’t been a cross; My heart would still be buried; And my soul would still be lost; If there hasn’t been a Savior; Who died to make a way; I’d still be a dead man; If there hadn’t been a grave.” This record shines musically and lyrically and draws the listener in quickly.
