In December 2012, Tain Gregory was in his third grade class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., when a 20-year-old man shot and killed 20 children and six adults, including the school principal and Tain’s close friend, Ben.
When a documentary was being prepared, director Lloyd Kramer asked several children to name the most important thing they like. Tain’s answer, “God,” so impressed people that he was invited to appear on several national television shows.
That prompted his mother, journalist and creative writer Sophfronia Scott, to invite Tain to co-author this book about how they started their Christian journey together.
She listens closely for those moments when her son asks life-shaping questions. She includes him in lesson preparations to teach Sunday school. They share daily devotion and prayer time.
