Faithful: Go and Speak by Various Female Artists

When you combine a powerhouse lineup of Christian female music artists with stories of women in the Bible, you have a memorable record. Faithful: Go and Speak offers the musical arm of the Faithful Project, which also includes a book and livestream event. “Each song on this special thematic album features a woman telling the story of God's faithfulness throughout Scripture to the present day, and this collaboration between artists and authors has led to a collection of poetry and resonance through song,” said a release about the recording. Artists on this project include Amy Grant, Elle Holcomb, Sandra McCracken, Ginny Owens, Christy Nichols, Rachel Lampa, Kelly Mintor and others. The music is peaceful and reflective but with a little “kick” on occasion. One attention-getting song is titled “The Detour”—a piece for anyone who believes life either happens in a straight line or had that wish. Part of the lyric states, “You’ve been good to me, I am safe to hope; I will dare to believe when the way is long and slow; And I am full of doubt, but you are kind and close; I will trust the detour is the road.” This record will speak to women or men.
