Lynda Randle’s deep, powerful voice resonates in her latest work, Pilgrim Journey. “Pilgrim Journey is such a special project to me because it is a bridge between my roots and my present—a musical coming home of sorts,” said Randle in a release. “It is an album of lament, healing, forgiveness, love … a journey to unity; and bringing people together is my passion.” The music resounds with gospel mixed in with some soul, blues, and Americana soundscapes. It features new arrangements of inspirational classics, spirituals, and original collections. One such classic is “Give Me Jesus,” in which Randle shares vocals with Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman. “The message of Give Me Jesus is so important to me,” Randle said. “Even though the world seems to have a lot to offer and there are so many things vying for our attention, at the end of the day, Jesus is the answer.” The debut single, “Plenty Good Room,” discusses occupancy in heaven and states in the chorus: “Plenty good room in my father’s kingdom; Plenty good room; Plenty good room; Choose your seat and sit down.” This record strongly declares God’s truth and hope.
