For pastors of Korean Christian Reformed churches in Texas, being far away from most other Korean CRCs can leave them feeling isolated. An August retreat in Dallas for these pastors and their wives helped build fellowship and connections to the other churches in the CRC’s Korean Council.
Five congregations from Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio sent their pastors and spouses for two days of fellowship and spiritual development.
Rev. Tong Park, intercultural ministries director for Christian Reformed Home Missions, led a seminar on coaching. Rev. Joon Suk Kang, pastor of First Korean Presbyterian CRC in Fort Worth, said that what attracted him to the retreat was “the opportunity to learn coaching, especially in our peer group setting.”
The Korean Council of CRCs recently approved the formation of a district in Dallas led by Rev. Jeong Ho Seo.
