It is rare for an international worship band to come to the United States and make a big splash—Australia’s Hillsong is one of the exceptions. But if Soulfire Revolution’s first album, Revival, is any indication, the band has potential. The five-member group has roots in Bogota, Columbia, but is now located in Miami, Florida. Featuring a pleasing blend of pop, rock, and rap, the lyrics center on the familiar worship themes of praise and dependence and are suitable for church or private worship. If you enjoy guest musicians, look for TobyMac, Martin Smith of Delirious, and Kim Walker-Smith of Jesus Culture. This record could have wide appeal, as it was recorded in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. (Sparrow)
